21 Digital Marketing Tools To Help Your Business Grow In 2022
Email Marketing Tools
Price: Tiered pricing, plans start free and range up to $199
Every successful business has successful email marketing that helps drive more sales.
MailChimp is an email marketing and social advertising tool designed to automate and arrange campaigns. With the help of its pre-designed email templates and drag & drop functionality, you can draft professional emails and drive more sales. You can even send postcards, create landing pages, and create targeted ads through this tool. Moreover, you can manage and track multiple email campaigns in real-time to ensure that all your emails bring the desired results.
What’s best with Mailchimp is they offer a free email marketing service plan, which is best for our clients with small businesses and on a limited budget. If you want to target more audience and contacts, you can always upgrade to the premium version and unlock more features with Mailchimp.

My personal favourite. One of the best paid marketing tools you can lay your cursor on is ActiveCampaign.
You may have set your eyes now on Mailchimp and want to settle with it, but as your company grows, your contacts, audience, and how you want to engage with this audience will grow.
In this scenario, Mailchimp is not powerful and flexible enough to provide an experience unique to each customer. This is where ActiveCampaign enters, as their Customer Experience Automation lets you create a unique experience for every customer — which is how you build lasting relationships that help your business grow more.
ActiveCampaign’s user interface is well-designed and intuitive, and requires little training to get started. Using the email designer, you can rapidly start building attractive email campaigns that convert and improve your customers’ experience. If you get stopped or things don’t seem to flow properly, you’ll notice helpful indications pointing you in the right direction. And there are many tutorials in YouTube as well 😉

A large part of the reason marketers purchase email-marketing tools is their automation features.
Mailerlite is one of the most user-friendly and cost-effective digital marketing tools, offering a surprisingly sophisticated email solution for businesses just getting started with email marketing.
MailerLite’s drag-and-drop editor comes in handy when you need to produce a striking email. It allows you to completely customize the look and feel of the site, as well as add text, videos, photographs, and social media links.
Subscriber management tools, on the other hand, help you expand your contact list, and import any current ones using Excel, TXT, and CSV files. Finally, you can keep the contact names, as well as their phone numbers, addresses, and email addresses.
When it comes to automation, you might use your tagging and segmentation criteria to customise emails for specific groups. Indeed, MailerLite allows you to track down cart abandoners, follow up on purchases, thank loyal customers, and even trigger audiences based on their website activity.
With its free plan, you can have 12,000 monthly emails, enable the drag and drop builder, access the email automation builder, get up to 10 landing pages, and sign-up forms & pop-ups. And if the 12,000 monthly emails is not enough anymore, you can always upgrade to $9/month that offers unlimited emails and 24/7 email support! Great value for money, right?
SEO Marketing Tools
Price: Tiered plan, ranging from $119.95 to 449.95
Modern SEO practices now aim to understand the search intent of keywords you can actually rank for, as well as build relevant and organic backlinks from authority sites. While old-school SEO was all about building backlinks, modern SEO practices are all about understanding the search intent of keywords you can actually rank for.
Search engines will recognize how authoritative and trustworthy your website is if there are quality links connecting to it.
Despite the fact that there are a myriad of fantastic tools available, many digital marketers consider SEMrush the one and only.
With SEMrush, you can perform competitive analysis and see which keywords your competitors rank for in organic search results, come up with new keyword ideas, get instant access to your backlink data, find niche-relevant content, track your desktop and mobile keyword rankings, audit your own site and be notified when one of your competitors gains or loses a backlink.
Price: Tiered plan, ranging from $12/month to $40/month
We understand that keyword research is a challenging task, and it can require more time than you expect. So it’s always great to have a few more tools in your arsenal to be efficient.
We personally use Ubersuggest as one of our digital marketing tools, as this tool can do many things, such as track your ranking throughout the web, do a site audit, keyword research, analyse competitors, traffic overview, and check for potential backlinks!
If you’re considering launching an ad campaign around a keyword, Ubersuggest provides important keyword information, such as total search traffic, difficulty, and paid difficulty.
As you progress down the page, you’ll notice historical data that shows how that keyword has changed over time. This is useful for identifying seasonal keywords or popular keywords right now, but may fade away in the future.
You’ll also get keyword suggestions and ideas that are relevant to the one you’re looking for, so you can update existing content or create a content marketing strategy.
In short, Ubersuggest offers great value for your money, and is a great choice for beginners and new businesses that want cheaper plans than Ahrefs and SEMrush, but can still compete on a higher level.
Price: Tiered plan, ranging from $99/month to $999/month
Ahrefs is one of the favourite SEO marketing tools on the market now. This popular tool has data on 610 million keywords in the UK alone, making it great for competitive analysis, as well as keyword research and content ideas.
Ahrefs also allows you to check out who is linking to your competitors, what their top pages are, and more. You can see where their content ranks and identify key weaknesses for your content areas.
The Ahrefs team is also highly receptive to feedback from their marketer users and regularly posts useful tutorials and articles to improve your SEO game.
Source: Screaming Frog
Price: Free plan available, Paid Version £149/yr
The Screaming Frog SEO Spider is a website crawler that extracts data and audits for common SEO issues to help you boost onsite SEO. You can download and crawl 500 URLs for free, or purchase a license to eliminate the restriction and gain access to more advanced features.
It can efficiently crawl both tiny and large websites, and allows you to analyze the findings in real time. It will display your broken links (404s) and server issues immediately. During a crawl, you can look for page names and meta descriptions that are excessively long, short, missing, or repeated across your site.
You can use both the free and paid versions to discover exact duplicate pages, generate XML sitemaps, and more. The paid version expands on this in multiple ways, including finding near-duplicate content and spelling and grammar checks.
Google Tools For Digital Marketing
Source: Google Analytics
I know you have heard about this one, as it is common in the digital marketing world.
Google Analytics is a free program that gives you useful information on who visits your website and how they interact with it.
It works best when used in conjunction with Google Search Console, a free digital marketing tool that helps you identify and fix problems with your website, as well as optimize it for visitors.
Some data points that Google Analytics makes available to you include:
- How long each user spends on your site and which pages they visit
- How each user interacts with your pages
- The keywords people are using in Google to find your site
- The demographics and interests of your users
- Where these visitors are coming from – referrals from other website, organic search, ads, social, or direct
- The number of visitors to your site by day, week, month, or any time period you choose
- and many more!
If you are not familiar with Google Analytics yet, you don’t have to worry, as Google itself offers a free course to help you learn it and be familiar with its functions. Be sure to maximize the use of Google Analytics to identify traffic opportunities, so you can come up with a proper SEO strategy.
Source: Google Search Console
This tool is partnered with Google Analytics, a set of tools and resources to help identify traffic opportunities and improve mobile usability.
Google Search Console offers a lot of features such as a performance tab where you can monitor the total impressions, total clicks, average click through rate, the overall average position of your website, top search queries where you’re gaining clicks, and the countries where your users are located.
Google Search Console will also notify you when Google discovers problems with your site, including missing links and pages not crawled by Google but will also provide solutions on how to resolve these problems. You can also do URL Inspection if you want to check if your page is crawled and is accessible on google search results.
The other cool feature of Google Search Console is its ability to monitor Mobile usability. When Google Search Console discovers that some of your pages are not displaying properly in mobile, it will inform you of the total pages and which pages you need to adjust.
You may also use the tool to create a sitemap or upload your latest sitemap, which allows Google Bots to crawl your site and inform them to recrawl newly re-optimized content.
Here at Digimark, other than the cool features I mentioned above, one of the important uses for Google Search Console is their page experience overview. In this section, you can see whether your site pages provide a good, safe, and secure experience for your users in mobile and desktop. If you can see a “Poor” status on any of the page experience signals, you need to address it accordingly.
10. Google Trends
Source: Google Trends
Google Trends is a useful digital marketing tool created by Google with a useful search trend feature that shows how frequently a given search term is entered into Google’s search engine relative to the site’s total search volume over a given period.
Google Trends can be used to compare keyword research and find spikes in keyword search volume caused by events. Google Trends provides keyword-related data, such as a search volume index and geographic data on search engine users.
Marketing Collaboration & Communication Tools
Cost: Free, or paid from $10 per month
Trello is a digital marketing tool that helps you manage tasks and communicate with your team–a good digital marketing practice to save time and hassle. In fact, at Digimark, we use Trello to keep track of each team member’s daily duties and accomplishments.
Trello is appealing, as it is free for small enterprises and teams. It gives a visual way to brainstorm and schedule content online — even if your team is distributed across the globe. It’s also simple to attach many employees to a card, ensuring you know who’s responsible for authoring, editing, or adding CTA offers to a post.
With Trello, users can make cards and add notes to them, set deadlines, and allocate topics to specific teams. Trello makes it easier to collaborate and keep track of projects in the works.
Trello isn’t the only digital marketing communication tool available on the market, but it’s by far one of the finest. This platform is difficult to surpass when it comes to interacting with others on marketing activities.
Price: Tiered plan, starts at free, then pro plans range from $6.67/month and up
In the realm of digital marketing tools, the success of any project is determined by the ease with which teams can communicate.
Aside from Trello, Slack is one of the favoured communication tools used by businesses today. It works in channels dedicated to specific information, so discussions about marketing strategy and marketing campaigns aren’t disrupted or interrupted by tangents about where everyone wants to go for team lunch. It enables, de-silos, and emphasizes employee and team collaboration.
It’s a great way to network and meet people in the digital marketing industry, and it provides you the flexibility to join and exit channels as needed.
Slack also integrates with all major project management, office management, sales, productivity, design, and development tools, making it easy to stay on top of every area of your digital marketing strategy.
Video Marketing Tools
Price: Tiered plan, starts at free, then ranges from $9.00/mo to $75.00/mo
Vimeo is an online video collaboration and distribution platform, which has a screen record feature, even if you are on your free plan. I personally use it to distribute instructions and collaborate with my remote members and clients.
Other than that, Vimeo’s player is the quickest, most configurable and most embeddable player where you can embed it almost anywhere in your site. It also displays who is watching your videos, when they are watching them, and from which country they are watching them.
Vimeo, from the standpoint of a marketer, can be beneficial to your video marketing plan, as it allows you to embed videos wherever you want, add clickable CTAs to collect emails, and track video data to see how your audience interacts with your video content.
Price: Starts at free then ranges from $8.00/mo to custom price for Enterprise plan
Loom is also an online video collaboration with a free Google Chrome browser extension. Loom allows you to record what you’re doing with your front-facing camera, as well as produce screen capture videos. As a result, it’s an all-in-one video communication tool that can be used in various situations. Same as Vimeo, the videos created in Loom are also embeddable to anywhere on your site.
The other great thing about Loom is that after recording, you can make cuts wherever you want, and then share your video directly through a link or download the video on your own computer. The Google Chrome extension is handy if you don’t want to download the application. You click it once, record, then send. It’s that quick.
Another great thing about this platform is that it allows your audience to react to your video by adding comments and emojis. You can also respond to those comments in real-time. Which is great, right?
Social Media Marketing Tools
Price: Starts at $49 per month and up, or custom enterprise pricing
Regardless of size, age, or sector, social media plays an important role in the success of every business. In fact, I’d argue that social media marketing is a must in this digital age.
You can schedule social media postings in advance using digital marketing platforms like Hootsuite, which saves you a lot of time.
Hootsuite allows you to manage various social media sites from a single dashboard and schedule several posts simultaneously. Approved content is saved in the cloud for all team members to view at any time, saving time on content discovery.
It also tracks the performance of your content in real time and monitors social media for talks about your business or a certain issue.
Social media marketing isn’t as complicated as it appears, especially with tools like Hootsuite at your disposal. You can schedule and manage social media profiles for more than 30 sites using this tool.
Cost: Free, or paid from $9.99 per month
In Social Media Marketing, you’ll need visuals to keep your audience engaged. Canva is a free design tool that lets you generate attractive images for online marketing, without any graphic design experience.
I personally use and recommend Canva because of its drag-and-drop function and a catalogue of icons, shapes, and fonts. It’s easy to create your own images, logos, presentations, tutorials and even charts.
You can also modify existing photos; either your own or from Canva’s huge collection. But, to fully use these features, you need a paid plan with Canva. You can do a lot with your free Canva account, but it’s much better if you avail their paid plans.
Content Marketing Tools
17. Yoast SEO
Source: Yoast SEO
Cost: Free, or paid from $99 to $229 per month
Yoast is more than a tool; it’s a viral plugin that works with both the Classic and Gutenberg editors in WordPress. It is not only simple to use, but also helps you optimize your content for search engines such as Google and Bing.
It helps you choose content, focus keywords, internal links, add related key phrases, track SEO performance and provide insights to improve your website’s ranking. Yoast also helps evaluate page readability and provides a reading score, which helps optimize the website.
If you like those features mentioned above, another advantage of using Yoast is that it gets updated according to Google’s algorithm, so that you can always have the latest news regarding SEO!
18. Surfer SEO
Source: Surfer SEO
Cost: Basic Plan starts at $59/mo, while the business plan starts at to $239/mo
Surfer SEO is a wonderful SEO tool that we use here at Digimark. With this tool, it’s easier to start with on-page SEO optimization, especially if you’ve never used one before. The SERP analyzer is the best feature of Surfer SEO. It will determine the optimal keyword density, compare your page to the competition, and identify link-building chances.
- SERP Analyzer
- Content Editor
- Keyword Research
- SEO Audit
- Keyword Surfer
Anybody can work with this tool because it is very easy to use and has a clear interface.
The prices are also affordable when you take into consideration what results you can achieve with the right combination of Surfer’s tools.
The only downside that I saw with Surfer SEO is the limited number of queries you can do every month as this depends on the plan that you purchased. The business plan has the most queries available in their plans, with 50 each day. Although that may be excessive for a small website owner, a large firm may be unhappy with that restriction.
Grammarly and Outwrite are a very useful tool for SEO writers. They might have the same purpose; to proofread your written content, but they each specialize in different writing suggestions. So which one is better for you?
Outwrite focuses on style and readability while Grammarly emphasizes grammar checking
Cost: Free Plan available, Premium plan at $12.00/mo
Grammarly is a helpful tool for:
Small businesses and website publishers
Cost: Free Plan available, Pro plan at $24.95/mo
While Outwrite is a helpful tool for:
- Freelance writers and bloggers
- Business owners and website publishers
Cost: Free Plan available, Plans start at $13/mo
Website load speed is more important than ever now, because people nowadays have lesser attention spans and are impatient. If they notice that your site loads slower, they will resort to looking for an alternative website which is not ideal for us business owners.
If you are not familiar with GTMetrix, it is a free tool used to get detailed reports on a website’s performance.
It creates scores for the pages and also provides recommendations to fix them. It uses Google Page Speed and YSlow recommendations to properly assess the website’s speed. GTmetrix checks that the front-end of the entire site is consistent with the recommended practices.
A high PageSpeed/YSlow score indicates that the website has been optimized for the web browser to render it as quickly as possible.
Main Features of GTMetrix:
- Get a summary of the key performance indicator.
- Analyze the page with Google PageSpeed and Yahoo!
- It will check the page load time, total page size, and requests.
- It also sees the performance compared to the average of many sites analyzed on GTMetrix.
- Analyze the site’s page-load from 28 servers in 7 different countries of the world.
- Analyze the Page on Android device.
